Warning: The originals photos, texts, films, music, etc ... of the period previous to 1921 year -see the Act of the US Congress about it - have no copyright and belong to the public domain. However, those same pictures, I process this blog, when I restore and paint the pictures, then the right of modification is produced, ie that are protected by full copyright law, in this case mine. Of course there are many more laws in the world, declared in the public domain photographs (which is the topic at hand), in very later dates to the aforementioned (Example: WWII, Korea, etc ...).

Danish Citroën Armored Half-Track Car (Prototype, circa 1936).

Danish Citroën-Kegresse Armored Half-Track Car (Prototype, ca. 1936).

The Danish Army in 1932 purchased a single copy of the French Half-Track Car Citroën-Kegresse of 18-HP, which was used for off-road tests, including tests on snow too.

During the next two years participated as a support vehicle of  the wheeled Armored Cars in the Danish Army maneuvers.

Probably the capacity all-terrain vehicle, which lacked the Danish
Armored Cars -made on Ford chassis AA  (4x2)-, motivated the construction of this prototype of Citroën Armored Half-Track Car.

It is quite probable that the "shield" of this unknown prototype (which so far I have not found any reference graphic or written) was built of wood, perhaps coated with a thin steel plate. It is also probable that it was built between 1935 and 1936. The prototype has been in the roof, in a pillbox structure, a French Hotchkiss machine gun.

Coche Semioruga Blindado danés Citroën-Kegresse (Prototipo, c. 1936).

  1. Are you sure it's Danish?
I wanted to find out more and did a Google search by image. One of the results (Danish language forum) mentions it as being a Norwegian vehicle.

Translation of an excerpt from the forum:
"This pictures are taken in Oslo Akershus Fortress and it is dated 1926.
Kégresse is a previous model of type K1.
Bodywork is a primitive attempt to make an armored car."
