Warning: The originals photos, texts, films, music, etc ... of the period previous to 1921 year -see the Act of the US Congress about it - have no copyright and belong to the public domain. However, those same pictures, I process this blog, when I restore and paint the pictures, then the right of modification is produced, ie that are protected by full copyright law, in this case mine. Of course there are many more laws in the world, declared in the public domain photographs (which is the topic at hand), in very later dates to the aforementioned (Example: WWII, Korea, etc ...).

Japanese Austin Mk. IV Armored Car M1932, Chiyoda Type.

Japanese Austin Mk. IV Armored Car Chiyoda Type, 6x4 , M1932

The Austin Armored Car 6x4 Type Chiyoda, was the result of the hybridization of the armored superstructure of the British Austin Mk IV placed on the chassis of a Chiyoda (TGT) 6x4 truck.

To do so, the aforementioned superstructure had to be coupled, lengthening it to the new 6-wheel chassis.

The engine's armored hood was lengthened and the front cover of the engine was transformed, providing it with cooling grilles.

Likewise, the front and rear fenders of the Chiyoda truck were preserved.

Three of the 6 Austin Mk IV or of the 4th Series, (following the chronology of the Austin used by the Russians) and which the British called Model 1918, were used for this conversion.

The three Austin-Chiyoda were sent in 1932, year of its manufacture, to the Kwantung Army, in Manchukuo. The photograph was probably taken in the city of Hsinking, capital of the country.

Coche Blindado Japonés Austin Mk. IV 6x4, Tipo Chiyoda M1932
